Roland Heap is a London based Sound Editor and Designer. He started his film work as location mixer and sound designer on theAcademy Award Nominated short film, 'The Little Terrorist' (Dir.Ashvin Kumar.) Since then he has worked on several projects including'For Real' (Dir, Sona Jain), ‘Things to See When You’re Not looking’ (Dir Yovi Bentovim and Emily Harris), ‘Reconciliation’ (Dir. Heap began his career at Abbey Road Studios as an assistant engineer, where he specialized in film scoring and classical recording. Whilst there he worked on a diverse range of projects, from Hollywood blockbusters such as Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Harry Potter movies to full scale studio opera recordings such as Tristan and Isolde. Working in the most technically advanced studio in the world gave him a solid audio grounding and musical training beyond his degree. He left the studio in 2005 and has since then worked on a range of projects as a sound recordist, designer and music engineer.
Heap holds a BMus (Tonmeister) in Music and Sound Recording from the University of Surrey.
